Recipe: Peanut Butter Oatmeal Banana Power Smoothie

One of my favorite smoothies is a peanut butter oatmeal banana smoothie.  It is absolutely delicious, healthy and can essentially act as a meal replacement since it is so filling.  I frequently have one of these suckers for breakfast and it fills me up for hours.  It might be a little too heavy before a workout, but is perfect for after a workout since it has plenty of protein, fiber and potassium.

You might want to tweak the recipe below as it makes enough to fill a tall GNC protein shaker or 2 tall glasses.

Recipe:

1 cup of ice
Milk for a thicker smoothie (recommended for your daily dose of protein & calcium)
Water for a thinner smoothie
Pour your preferred liquid into the blender until the ice is almost covered
1 or 2 bananas
1/2 cup of old fashioned oats
1 tablespoon of peanut butter
1 tablespoon of flax seed oil (optional, but flax seed oil is chock full of heart-healthy omega-3, omega-6 & omega-9 essential fatty acids)

Blend and enjoy at home, on the way to work in the morning or after your workout.

Where would I find flax seed oil? Whole Foods, maybe? This sounds delicious.

SoylentPinkish You can find flax seed oil at Whole Foods, GNC or The Vitamin Shoppe. I'm glad you like it! I just had one an hour ago after my workout. :-)
